6 Anshu Chittora (PhD Scholar) paper "Analysis of normal and pathological infant cries using bispectrum features derived using HOSVD," in International Conference on BioSignal Analysis, Processing and System, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, 26-28 May, 2015. got best paper award.
7 Kesha Shah (BTech 2011) as the winners of its first Women in Open Source Awards. The winners were announced at Red Hat Summit Boston, the industry's premier open source technology conference.
8 Sanket Patel (PhD Scholar) bagged first prize in M V Chauhan All India Student Paper Contest 2014, organized by IEEE India for his paper ‘Design & Analysis of Low Noise Amplifier at Ku-Band’

2 Kesha Shah  Kesha Shah (BTech 2011) was selected as a scholar for Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship Asia-Pacific 2014. She is also a Co-founder, Women Who Code (WWC) - Gujarat, a global non-profit which empowers women to pursue careers in technology, advocates for gender diversification in work place and expands career opportunities for women in technology sector. She was also selected as Mentor for Google Code-In contest to introduce pre-university students (age groups 13-17) to the many kinds of contributions that make open source software development possible.
3 Yash Shah  Yash Shah (BTech 2011) was invited by Google to attend largest developer conference Google I/O held during June 25-16, 2014 at San Francisco, USA. He was invited by Ryerson Futures and Ryerson University to Toronto in May 2014 to experience the market opportunities there. He was invited to deliver a talk at FOSSASIA 2014 in Cambodia in February 2014. He was also invited to deliver a talk at Akademy 2013 in Spain, which is the annual world summit of KDE, one of the largest Free Software communities in the world. He also attended Mozilla Summit 2013, California (Santa Clara), US where he was invited on the basis of his contribution to Mozilla Open Source.
4 Priyansh Trivedi Priyansh Trivedi (BTech 2012) and Yash Shah (BTech 2011) were ranked #1 by Google Developers Group (GDG) in India in 2014 in terms of number of events organized in last 6 months.
5 Mayank Hinger, Manan Dhawan and Arkit Vora Mayank Hinger, Manan Dhawan and Arkit Vora, (BTech 2011) won the first prize at IIT Bombay Techfest (held during January 3-5, 2014) in the event "Appsurd" for developing an android application. They received Certificates and an Acer Iconia W5 tablet convertible to laptop.
6 Saurabh Patel Saurabh Patel (BTech 2012) was selected in Google Summer of Code 2014 (May 19–August 18, 2014). 
7 Hardik Avaiya Hardik Avaiya (MSc-IT 2013) secured First Position in XENESIS - 2014, a National Level Symposium in the event X-Treme organized by LDRP-IRT, Gandhinagar on March 27, 2014.
8 Smit Kotadiya and Nigam Shah Smit Kotadiya and Nigam Shah (MSc-IT 2013) were the winners in IT Quiz held at Rollwala College, Ahmedabad.  
9 Smit Kotadiya Smit Kotadiya (MSc-IT 2013) received appreciation letters for vulnerability reporting from Sony, SPOJ Email Brain, Almamater, Ferrari, HackerRank, HackerEarth and skyscanner.
10 Abhishek Shukla Abhishek Shukla (BTech 2010) was selected for the grant of Short Service Commission in the flying branch of Indian Air Force; his training will commence at Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad on July 7, 2014.
11   DA-IICT participated for the second time, as the only Indian team, in the International Artificial Intelligence Angry Birds Competition, 2014 hosted by the European Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2014 at, Prague, Czech Republic and came sixth world-wide.    The team was led by Prof. Sourish Dasgupta with Savan Vaghela (BTech 2011), Vishwa Modi (BTech 2011), Dhruvi Shah (BTech 2011), and Hitarth Kanakia (BTech 2012).   The objective of the competition is to develop a software robot that can understand complex, unknown structures and devise a strategy on-the-fly to destroy them in an optimal way within limited time. 
12   DA-IICT is planning to participate again in the upcoming competition to be hosted by International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2015, Buenos Aires, Argentina.  We hope to get multiple teams (drawn from the Introduction to Programming course in autumn semester 2014) representing both DA-IICT as well as India.

1 Ankita Gupta Ankita Gupta, BTech 2010 batch student won 3rd Prize at Startup Weekend Ahmedabad held at IIM-Ahmedabad for pitching an idea called Event Flow.
2 Abhinav Tripathi, Anuj Kosambi, Jaydeep Solanki and Somsubhra Bairi A team of four BTech 2011 batch students, Abhinav Tripathi, Anuj Kosambi, Jaydeep Solanki and Somsubhra Bairi, was judged second runner-up in Microsoft Imagine Cup under World Citizenship category for India finals held at Hyderabad on 10 April 2013. The team developed an app for Windows Phone 8 platform that lets a blind person read at his own without any help from anyone else and received a cash prize of INR 60,000 and each team member also got a Nokia Lumia 920. 
3 Nagendra Chowdary Nagendra Chowdary, BTech 2010 batch student, was junded runner up in the western region in the first edition of the IET India Scholarship Award – Regional Rounds that took place in Pune on 20 July 2013 at College of Engineering Pune. In the third and final round, the participants made their presentations on the topic ‘Technological Solutions for Effective Water Management’. He received cash prize of INR 20,000.
4 Mayank Ladha Mayank Ladha, BTech 2012 batch student, was Semi-finalist in Ahmedabad Mirror Talent Hunt – 2013.
5 Zeel Shah Zeel Shah, BTech 2010 batch student, Raj Buddhdev, BTech 2011 batch student, won the first prize in 2013 Industry Application Society’s (IAS) Web Chapter Contest.
6 Vaibhavi H Desai Vaibhavi H Desai, BTech 2011 batch student, won first prize in "Women in Industry Awareness Challenge" organised by Industry Application Society(IAS) and Woman in Engineering (WIE)  chapters of DA-IICT.
7   Seventeen DA-IICT students have been selected for the Google Summer of Code (GSoC)-2013 contest from over 100 countries across the world for the prestigious “Google Summer of Code 2012 internship”. These interns worked on different projects under GSoC for three-month home-based internship and each got a stipend of $5,000. 
8 Saksham Gupta and Brijesh Patel, Saksham Gupta, BTech 2nd year student, and Brijesh Patel, BTech 3rd year student, were awarded the prestigious Myron Zucker Travel Award given by the IEEE Industrial Application Society (IAS) for academic and overall excellence. The award will enable them to attend the IEEE Industry Application Society (IAS) Annual Meeting 2013 to be held at Orlando Florida, USA, on 6 October 2013.
9 Megha Tak  Megha Tak represented IAS SB DA-IICT in the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) held in USA in March 2013.
10   A grant of $500 was awarded for the best presentation in 2nd All Indian IAS workshop in TSEC Mumbai in April 2013.   Projects on ADICCS and sickle-cell anaemia, each got a grant of $500 for execution of the project.
11   DA-IICT was also awarded the Outstanding IEEE Student Branch Chapter Award 2013 as well as the first prize in IEEE Industrial Application Society’s (IAS) Web Chapter Contest.
12   The Institution of Engineers (India), Gujarat State Centre, awarded the ‘Sarojaben Ashwinray Doshi & Parivar Gold Medal’ to Mr Naman Vipulkumar Turakhia, B.Tech (ICT) Graduate of 2009-13 batch for scholastic performance. Mr Turakhia is now pursuing his MS in USA.
13 Saksham Gupta Saksham Gupta (BTech 2012 and Brijesh Patel (BTech 2011) were awarded the prestigious Myron Zucker Travel Award given by the IEEE Industrial Application Society (IAS) for academic and overall excellence. The award enabled them to attend the IEEE Industry Application Society (IAS) Annual Meeting 2013 held at Orlando, Florida, USA from October 6, 2013.
14 Zeel Shah  Zeel Shah (BTech 2010) and Raj Buddhdev (BTech 2011) won 1st prize in 2013 Industry Application Society’s (IAS) Web Chapter Contest, in which global Institutes participated. 
15 Jineet Doshi  Jineet Doshi (BTech 2011) won the IEEE Student Enterprise award 2013. He also won the ‘Outstanding Volunteer Award’ from the IEEE Gujarat Section. He received a grant of $1000 for his project ‘ICT-based Solutions for Education in Rural India’. The project involves teaching under-privileged kids in remote areas of the country through a network of tablets connected to the internet through MiFi devices. It involves establishing the necessary hardware infrastructure followed by content delivery through custom interactive apps, animated videos and web services. The proposed model is highly scalable, self sustaining, easy to implement and inexpensive. His research paper "ICT-based Solutions for Education in Rural India - A Case Study" has been selected for presentation at the IEEE GHTC (Global Humanitarian Technology Conference) 2014 to be held in Silicon Valley, California, USA.
16 Aditi Bhatnagar Aditi Bhatnagar (BTech 2012) was selected as Google Student Ambassador from DAIICT for the year 2013-14.
17   DA-IICT was also awarded the Outstanding IEEE Student Branch Chapter Award 2013 as well as the first prize in IEEE Industrial Application Society’s (IAS) Web Chapter Contest.

She is also serving as the Google Student Ambassador.
2 Megha Tak Megha Tak, final year BTech student, was chosen as the “Outstanding Chapter Chair” among the 150 student chapters from across the globe.
3 Mohit Setia and Megha Tak Mohit Setia and Megha Tak, final year BTech students, were also fully funded to represent Industry Application Society (IAS) Student Chapter from India and present paper tiltled “Converting Waste heat from Automobiles to Electrical Energy" at International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-2012) at Harbin, China in June 2-5, 2012. 
4 Sonali Dubey and Yash Soni Sonali Dubey and Yash Soni, final year BTech students, were selected among the top seven in the country for “Microsoft Imagine Cup” for designing a software (as a part of software design competition by Microsoft) to assist and improve the exercise of patients sufferinf from motor disorder, post stroke syndromes and cerebral palsy. 
5   Seventeen students of DA-IICT were selected from 4,285 applicants  from over 100 countries across the world for the prestigious “Google Summer of Code 2012 internship”. These interns worked on different projects under GSoC for three months from 21st May and each got a stipend of $5,000. Those selected are BTech students Yash Shah (first year), Saheb Motiani, Neel Shah, Smit Sanghavi, Rajat Gupta (from second year), Brijesh Pate, Smit Patel, Jigar Raisinghani, Aditya BSRK, Shivaraman Aiyer, Jiten Thakkar, Pankaj Bhambhani, Nityam Vakil, Jainit Purohit (from third year) and Viranch Mehta, Anirudh Subramanian along with Gaurav Arora (from final year).
6   DA-IICT Google Developers’ Group (GDG) is selected as one of the 271 approved Google Developers Group chapters in 87 countries around the world.
7   R10 EAC support fund of US $200 was awarded for DA-IICT’s Annual Technical Festival, ifest.
8   IEEE Student Branch of DA-IICT won 2nd position in "Innovative Student Branch Competition" at IEEE All India Student Congress 2012 held at Bangalore.
9 Maulik C. Madhavi Maulik C. Madhavi received IAPR (International Association for Pattern Recognition) Teavel Scholarship for presenting a joint paper, "Significance of magnitude and phase information via VTEO for humming based biometrics," in International Conference on Biometrics, ICB' 12, Delhi, 30 March- 1 April 2012.
10 Ankita Mehta Ankita Mehta, BTech 2010 batch student, won the “Outstanding Woman in Engineering (WIE) Award 2012” conferred by WIE Affinity Group of IEEE Student Branch, Nirma University in association with IEEE Gujarat Section and IEEE Region 10 (Asia and Pacific) in November 2012. She is also serving as the Google Student Ambassador. 
11 Ankita Mehta Ankita Mehta, BTech 2010 batch student, was selected as the scholarship recipient from all over India by the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology to attend the Grace Hopper Conference 2012 to celebrate Women in Computing from 12-14 December 2012 at Bangalore.
12 Ankita Mehta Ankita Mehta, BTech 2010 batch student, was selected among Top 16 Google Student Ambassadors (GSAs) for the term 2012-2013 from a total of 123 GSA’s across India.
13 Ankita Mehta, Sharan Shodhan and Om Thakkar A team of three BTech 2010 batch students, Ankita Mehta, Sharan Shodhan and Om Thakkar, was ranked 147th in the ACM-ICPC 2012, Asia Region, Onsite Contest and Ranked 219th ACM-ICPC Online Coding Contest held in December 2012.

4 Milind Shah Milind Shah, PhD Scholar was awarded INSPIRE fellowship of the DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
5 Khaja Ahmad Shaik Khaja Ahmad Shaik, PhD Scholar was awarded TCS Research Fellowship.
6 Mohit Setia and Megha Tak Mohit Setia and Megha Tak, final year BTech students, were awarded first prize among 19 countries for their outstanding performance at a global competition organized at the IEEE Industry Application Society (IAS) Annual Meeting 2011 held at Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from 7th to 11th October 2011. They were awarded for their vibrant video on Indian Culture and Tourism titled “India – Our Motherland”. Each of them won $1,400 under the prestigious Zucker Travel Award given by IEEE Education Department for academic and overall excellence.
7 Sidharth Kothari Sidharth Kothari, selected as one of the 350 mentors, mentored high school students with Tux4Kids during 2011 Google Code.
8   Women in Engineering (WIE) wing of the IEEE Student Branch at DA-IICT won the ‘2010 IEEE WIE Affinity Group of the Year Award” for the Asia-Pacific Region in September 2011

10   IAS (Industry Applications Society) Student Branch was formed at DA-IICT in December, 2011, with a starting branch fund of $500.
